Equipment List

The Panopto Recorder allows for a wide variety of AV Equipment. Depending on your needs you can choose between DV quality cameras, low end web cameras and even high end Datapath video capture cards. As long as Windows can see the video source, CourseCast can capture it.

Below is a general list of equipment that has been used successfully with Panopto CourseCast. If you have any additions to this list, please let us know ( support@panopto.com )!

AV Capture Cards

Datapath VisionRGB -PRO1 Card - Very high quality VGA capture card.  PCI plug in.
Datapath VisionRGB-E1 Capture Card - Very high quality internal DVI capture card.  PCI-e plug in.
Osprey 210 - internal AV capture card.

Sabrent USB 2.0 capture - Good low end option. Endorsed by customers.

DV / HD Video Cameras

Canon ZR800 - Low cost, mid-performance, handycam.
Canon Xl1S - High cost, older, professional quality.
Canon GL2 - High cost, newer, professional quality.
Panasonic PV-GS83 - Low cost, mid-performance, DV camera. (No audio input jack)
Panasonic PV-GS320 - Mid cost, newer MiniDV camera.
Sony HDR-HC1- Mid-High cost high definition camera
Canon HV20 - Mid cost, consumer-performance, HD camera.

Acoustic Magic Voice Tracker, Array Microphone - automatic voice tracking microphone for small and large rooms. (Endorsed by Panopto)
Audio Technica ATW-701 - Great cost/performance ration lapel microphone.
Audio Technica ATW-R700 - Wireless receiver unit for above microphone.
