Blackboard Building Block

With the CourseCast Building Block, lectures captured with CourseCast can be seamlessly imported into Blackboard course documents. Students just click on the Panopto logo to view the lecture of their choice.

**Note: Building block is only compatible with the Blackboard Academic Suite**

**Note: WebCT is not supported**

Obtaining the Building Block

Please contact support@panopto.com to obtain the latest Blackboard building block.

Installation & Activation

The installation of the Panopto Building Block is very simple. 

1.  Login as an administrator to your Blackboard Suite.

2.  Go to the Administrator Panel or click on the System Admin tab.

3.  Locate the Blackboard Building Blocks Management section and click on Building Blocks.

4.  Click on Install Building Blocks

5.  Browse for the location of your ContentBuildingBlock.zip file that you've downloaded from Panopto and click Submit.

6.  Once installed, you will need to activate the Building Block.  To do so, set the Availability to "Available" and the Course/Org Default to "Available"buildingblock4.jpg

7.  The last step for installing the Building Block is directing it to your CourseCast Web Server.  You can do this by clicking on the Properties button to the right of the Panopto Content Importer instance.

8.  Next, type in the name of your CourseCast server.  Ex:  coursecast.myuniversity.edu

Then click Submit

Using the Panopto Building Block

Now that you  have the Panopto Building Block installed and activated, users may integrate Panopto content through their Course Management page.

1.  The instuctor may now to go their Courses page and select the Course that they want to add Panopto content to.

2.  When the user has selected their Course and the Course Page opens, they will need to click on "Control Panel" in the left hand toolbar.

3.  After opening the Control Panel, click on "Course Documents"

4.  Now use the drop-down box on the right-hand side to select "CourseCast Video Link" and click GO.

5.  The last step is selecting your particular lecture, adding a title and description and clicking Submit.

The Lecture that you've selected will now show up under the list of Course Documents within your Course and will allow students to click on the link and view the presentation.
