Podcasting and RSS Feeds for CourseCast CoursesFrom $1CourseCast makes audio versions of every recording available through podcasts and RSS feeds. By subscribing to the feed, the audio from each new recording in a course will automatically be downloaded in mp3 format. The downloaded content can then be listened to using any device capable of playing back mp3 audio. CourseCast 2.1 introduces the ability to create video podcasts for each recording. Video Podcasting/MPEG4 support is only available to customers with Support Plans. Podcast links can be accessed from both the student and management interfaces. In the student interface, podcast links appear next to each course heading. To access podcast links from within the management interface, click the "Courses/Folders" tab at left.
On the top right of every course listed you will find a feed icon and two links marked "Podcast" and "RSS". These links allow you to subscribe to the course feed in different ways. PodcastClicking on the Podcast link will open an "itpc" link that will open up your favorite podcast listening software, or ask you to pick the application you wish to use like iTunes or Windows Media Player. Once your application is selected it will be automatically added to the podcast list and will look something like this: RSSClicking on the RSS feed link will take you to a screen that will allow you to subscribe to the content via an RSS link and your favorite RSS reader. As new recordings become available the RSS reader will display links to the individual mp3's for downloading.
