Launching the Focus Recorder from your Canvas Course

How to launch the Panopto Focus Recorder from within your Canvas course.

You now have the ability to launch the Focus Recorder using the credentials you entered when logging into your Canvas course as an Instructor. This allows for a much smoother workflow, and only having to enter your credentials in once.

Login to your Canvas course

Once you have logged into your Canvas course, select "Modules" on the left hand side of your course, in your Toolbar.

Enter your Panopto site, through Canvas

Once in the Modules section of your class, click on the Panopto module that has previously been created

Load the external tool

Click on "Load ___ in a new window"

Launch the Recorder

Click the "Record" button that appears in the new dialog box. Clicking this passes your credentials to the Focus Recorder, and launches it, without you ever having to enter your credentials a second time.

Next , you should see the below dialog box, and your Recorder should launch. If your Recorder does not automatically launch, please click the word "here" that is highlighted in red in the below screenshot.

Your Focus Recorder should now be launched, and you should be able to create your Focus Recordings. Please see the documentation for creating a Basic Recording.
